Waterfalls

Waterfalls are always one of nature's most spectacular and enchanting attractions and a welcome sight at the end of any jungle trek. Taman Negara, Merapoh is home to some exquisit examples as the crystal clear waters tumble over rocks on their journey through pristine rainforest. Trek through steaming jungle past mighty butresses of towering trees rising into the the thick green canopy laced with llianas, hear the inviting sound of rushing water up ahead before emerging into a clearing to be greeted by the sight of a refreshing casscade of water glistening in the sunlight.

You can tailor your Jungle Explorer itinerary to include visits to three waterfalls:

Bunian Waterfall is the most easily accessible with just a 900m relatively flat trek through forest from the drop off point 7 km along the 4x4 track into Taman Negara.

Kelam Waterfall is a 1.4 km trek through the forest which usually takes around 45 minutes each way as this track has some hilly terrain

Lata Luis Waterfall is a 11 km hike deeper into the jungle towards Gunung Tahan which generally takes around 3 hours each way. You can choose to camp overnight at Lata Luis

You can also choose to include a waterfall in an extended Gunung Tahan expedition:

Fourstep Waterfall is an additional highlight to the 139.4 km Merapoh to  Kuala Tahan climbing route for Gunung Tahan with the total expedition taking 9 days 8 nights.

Kampung Halak, the Temiar village is close to a series of impressive waterfalls that you will visit as part of our 3 day 2 night Orang Asli Indigenous Cultural experience:

Halak Waterfalls tumble their way down the valley in the remote Kelantan Hills with the closest one only 20 minutes up stream from the village. You can follow the river for up to an hour and enjoy swimming in the crystal clear pools as well as visiting another waterfall only 15 minutes from the village on another river.
